UZ Celebrates 20 Years |
In 2014, UZ Arts celebrated its 20th Anniversary. Founded in 1994, UZ brought together directors from Edinburgh's Unique Events and Brighton's Zap Club to create an organisation that could produce large-scale events and festivals for Scotland. UZ went on to create many memorable events working with a very talented team of organisers and hundreds of artists that were to entertain millions at Glasgow and Aberdeen's Hogmanay, Glasgow's Art Fair, Big In Falkirk, the Merchant City Festival, Distilled Live, Scotland in New York, and many more events. In 2010, founder and Artistic Director, Neil Butler set up UZ Arts as an international arts charity to create our own work and commissions and produce artists and performers who wish to work across borders and in public space. In 4 years, over 60 artists have been commissioned and presented in 10 countries. In Scotland UZ have worked in virtually every part of the country, from Shetland to Dumfries and Galloway. Most recently we made Home, and outdoor show in Falkirk to launch the Helix and the Kelpies, and produced the John Muir Festival 2014. We'd love your help to share all our collective memories of the last twenty years - if you have any photos or memories of previous UZ events, please post them on our Facebook here. |
